I recently had the opportunity to review Mary Kay's #ClearProof Acne System Compliments of +Influenster. The System consists of 4 products, Clarifying Cleansing Gel, Blemish Control Toner, Acne Treatment Gel and Oil-Free Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin. There is a 5th product (Pore-Purifying Serum) that can be purchased (for $17), however I did not test it because it was not included in the system I was sent.
This Is A Photo of the Complete System I Tested |
My son was originally going to test the products, however they proved to be too strong for his skin so I decided that I would try them out. I was very happy with the system for the first few days, but then I too realized my skin was becoming red, irritated, itchy, dry and burnt.
At that point I stopped using the system daily and began using it every other day. I noticed that my skin was still very red and irritated, however my pimples were clearing up, so I wasn't ready to give up completely on the system. Below you will find my "BEFORE" photos, "BURN" photos, and "AFTER" photos.
My Photo Before Using Mary Kay #ClearProof Acne System. |
I gave my skin a break for a few days and then used only the Cleansing Gel and Moisturizer for the next week. I slowly introduced the Toner and the Treatment Gel back into my regiment, but only every three days. After a little trial and error I found the perfect amount of each product to use on my skin to combat my pimples, yet not burn and dry my skin.
Overall, I am very happy with this system as it did clear-up my skin up as promised. I would definitely recommend the entire system, however I would go easy until you know how your skin is going to react to it.
My Beautiful Acne-Free Skin! |
Now that I have shared my personal experience with you, I would like to share some specific details about each product that's included in the system.
Clear Proof Clarifying Cleansing Gel
I liked the Cleansing Gel quite a bit, it lathered nicely and left my skin feeling very clean. The product contains 2% Salicylic Acid which removes dirt, oil and complexion-dulling impurities. This product can be purchased separately for $16 from marykay.com
Clear Proof Blemish Control Toner
I used this Blemish Control Toner sparingly and only every few days because it was a little too strong for my skin. This product also contains 2% Salicylic Acid and helps exfoliate dead surface skin cells and helps keep pores clean. This product can be purchased separately for $15 from marykay.com
Clear Proof Acne Treatment Gel
I believe that I personally over used this product, which may have contributed to my initial problems with burning, itchy, dry skin. I started using this only as a spot gel on specific pimples, and I also only used it once or twice a week which seemed to work for my skin. This product contains 5% Benzoyl Peroxide and helps to reduce redness and size of pimples, it also reduces the number of blackheads in problem areas. This product can be purchased separately for $10 from marykay.com
Clear Proof Oil-Free Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin
I really liked this product a lot, it left my face feeling moisturized but not oily. I was using this product once a day and didn't seem to have any problems with it. This product is lightweight and quick absorbing, it controls excess oil without clogging pores. The Moisturizer can be purchased separately for $18 from marykay.com
The Clear Proof Acne System
The entire system can be purchased for $45 from marykay.com

ReplyDeleteIt’s started to burn me too...I think I might have overused it. So I’ve cut down a bit. But it’s pretty effective as you mentioned, helped clear my face a bit indeed...7/10
